Today I am continuing to share that positive vision for Indiana by launching the first statewide TV ad of my campaign to become Governor.

Watch as my wife, Karen, shares our Hoosier story, from growing up in Columbus, Indiana, to my time at Hanover College and the Indiana University School of Law, to my career and our first date at the ice skating rink at Pepsi Coliseum.

In the Pence household, that means we’ll be celebrating Karen, my lovely wife and the mother of our three children, Michael, Charlotte and Audrey. Karen has been the love of my life for nearly 29 years, since we first met near Butler University’s campus in Indianapolis. Today, as an elementary school art teacher, pilot and watercolor artist, she has served as a true role model to our children, as well as those she teaches.

As we travel the great state we’ve called home our entire lives, I’m blessed to have this wonderful woman standing by my side, and, God willing, one day standing before you as the first lady of Indiana.

Monday morning, Mike led a jobs roundtable in La Porte County at Boss Industries. It was great to hear ideas and insight from local business leaders about how to keep Indiana growing.

Later that day, we met with supporters at the Country Kettle in Starke County. Thanks to all who offered words of encouragement as we continue our travels around the great Hoosier state.

Continuing south, Mike spent the afternoon with Hoosiers in Fulton County at the Streamliner restaurant. The Streamliner opened its doors Memorial Day weekend in Rochester in 1939, and it was a terrific and historic location to join supporters.

On primary day, Mike, for the tenth straight year, continued his tradition of voting at Clifford Fire Station in Columbus. Thank you for all the kind words from neighbors, friends and family who took time to greet us outside the polls and who encouraged us along the campaign trail over the last year.

In Parke County, Mike joined supporters at the Old Jail Inn Coffee House for lunch. It was great to meet with Hoosiers as we work to create good jobs, great schools, safe streets and strong families.

We spent the afternoon at the Grand Traverse Pie Company in Vigo County and with voters on the south side of Indianapolis at Douglas MacArthur Elementary School. We enjoyed speaking with folks about ways to keep Indiana moving forward for years to come.

That evening, Mike and Karen discussed a positive vision for Indiana at Indiana GOP Headquarters. During his speech, Mike thanked his family and supporters and said, “Our campaign over the last year has been, and will remain, a positive, people-centered campaign of ideas….the time-honored principles of fiscal responsibility, limited government, lower taxes, less regulation, a strong workforce, and strong families.”
